How to Install the New Taller Risers on Your Boosted Board

We are shipping all extended range packs with slightly taller risers. The taller risers are optional and can be used by riders who may like a little extra ground clearance. We recommend that riders over 175 lbs (79 kg) install these risers.

To install the taller risers you will need the skate tool, the long truck mounting screws (8), and truck mounting nuts (8) that came with your extended range battery.

  1. First make sure your battery is powered off. Then swing the motor cables to the side, free from the clips on each side of the rear trucks, but keep them plugged into the motor driver. This will make it easier to get to the back truck mounting screws.
  2. Use the 1/8” hex key in the skate tool to hold the truck mounting screw in place from the grip tape side of the deck.
  3. Slip the smaller end of the skate tool over the truck mounting nut and rotate counterclockwise to loosen. Repeat this process on all four of the truck mounting screws. Set the hardware aside.
  4. Your drivetrain should still be connected to the motor controller by the motor cables. This is correct. Gently lift the truck free from the board and place the drivetrain near the tail. You will now see the riser which was sitting underneath the truck.
  5. Remove the riser and set it aside with the truck mounting hardware.
  6. Install the taller riser – the one with the wings is the rear riser. Make sure the riser sits flush with the board. The accessory cable should remain resting in its original seating. Insert the long truck mounting screws that came with your extended range battery pack.
  7. Put the truck and drivetrain back in place. Place the truck mounting nuts over the screws.
  8. Holding the screw in place with the 1/8” hex key, tighten the nuts with the smaller end of the skate tool. You want to make sure the screws are tight, but there’s no need to overdo it. Over-tightening the screws may damage the deck.

Repeat the process to install the taller riser in the front. This process should be more straightforward as there are fewer components in the front.
