You will need the crank with chain ring, crank arm and the 8mm hex key for these steps.
Remove the two bolts that are threaded into the spindle of the bottom bracket. This area on your AM1 frame has been highlighted above.
Be careful that the plastic ring on the bolt does not get removed as you unscrew the bolts.
You may have to hold the bottom spindle to stop it spinning as you unscrew the bolts.
Installation of the crank on the incorrect side will require professional assistance to remove it again. Make sure to follow the next steps carefully.
The crank with chain ring should be installed on the rider’s right-hand side of your AM1.
As you can see in the image above, the crank with chain ring is installed on the same side as the sprocket (circled) on the rear wheel.
Thread the bolt back into the bottom bracket through the crank with chain ring.
Tighten the bolt into the bottom spindle using the 8mm hex key.
Now install the crank arm on the rider’s left side of your AM1. This should be at 180 degrees to the crank with chain ring on the right side.
The crank arm should be on the left side as shown.
Tighten up the crank arm using the 8mm hex key.
